2008 Kids Choice Awards’ Stars Behind-The-Scenes
Kids Choice Has Cameron Diaz, Miley Cyrus, Miranda Cosgrove, Jonas Bros., Naked Bros. Band and more… 
At Nickelodeon’s 2008 Kids Choice Awards, young fans inside UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion, and outside in the bleachers overlooking the orange carpet, were screaming at the top of their lungs. They were trying to get the attention of their favorite celebrities, such as Cameron Diaz, who got the Wannabe Award. That’s the honor given to the star the kids most want to be. So who did Cameron say she’d like to be? “Oh, when I was a kid, I wanted to be Indiana Jones,” she beamed. Well, she got her chance to meet her Indy idol, Harrison Ford, who had the honor of being slimed at the awards. “This is awful. It’s sticky, and yucky, and tastes so bad,” the action-movie stud said as the green goo dripped into the big smile on his face. You can see Ford in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, also featuring Shia LaBeouf, when the movie comes out in May. Along with host Jack Black, the other big names on hand were Jessica Alba, Janet Jackson, Usher, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Devon Werkheiser, Hayden Panettiere, Emily Osment, Jordin Sparks, Jodie Foster, Abigail Breslin, Tyler James Williams, Steve Carell, Jason Lee, America Ferrara and Ashton Kutcher. Orlando Bloom was a good sport about getting a ton of slime dumped on him. And Heidi Klum was a game gal playing a “human dart” trying to hit some slime-filled targets for a fun show segment. 
Also getting lots of attention was the entire cast of The Naked Brothers Band, with star Nat Wolff praising his little brother Alex, 10, for being a great drummer. “I didn’t want to put him in the band just because he was my brother. But he was so good that I was forced to. It would have been like a crime if I didn’t,” Nat, 13, explained. The entire cast of Nickelodeon’s Dance On Sunset was there, with choreographer Tony Testa, and his fabulous dancers The Nick 6, who show off the latest dance moves on the rocking new series. A quiet young lady with lots of style, Miranda Cosgrove, star of Nickelodeon’s iCarly, was happy to catch up with Drake Bell and Josh Peck. “It’s always a party when I see them,” she said. Miranda’s first real acting gig was as the little sister on Drake & Josh when she was eight. The noise level really went off the meter when Miley Cyrus rocked the stage. The Hannah Montana teen sensation took home Favorite Female Singer and Favorite TV Actress awards. 
There were also screams for the Jonas Brothers-- Nick, 15, Joe, 18, and Kevin, 20, which probably echoed throughout Los Angeles. After winning Favorite Music Group, Nick said that “two years ago, we were trying to get noticed as we walked the carpet. Now everyone’s shouting out our names. It feels great.” Most of their fans know them from the Best of Both Worlds concert tour, opening for their good friend Miley Cyrus. They’ve been getting a lot of exposure lately with appearances on Dancing With the Stars, and chat shows with Jimmy Kimmel and Ellen DeGeneres. Upcoming, the boys have their very own shows to boast about. They were happy to announce this spring the Disney Channel will feature a reality series, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream. It will be a behind-the-scenes look at their lives. Then the young musicians have a 38-city concert tour this summer. They’ve already filmed their first movie, Camp Rock, premiering June 20 on the Disney Channel. Another big project, coming this fall is a weekly Jonas Brothers series, again for the Disney Channel. Titled J.O.N.A.S., the show has Nick, Joe and Kevin playing rock stars who are undercover spies.
